History
Department of Agro Product Processing Technology was established in 2015. The Department offered undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science in Agro Process and Food Engineering abbreviated as BSc in Agro Process and Food Engineering. But now, the name of the degree has been changed to Bachelor of Science in Food Engineering, abbreviated as B.Sc. in Food Engineering from 2023-2024 admission session onward. Also, the name of the department has been changed to the Department of Food Engineering. This department started with a vision to produce competent and skilled graduates in agro process and food engineering on the basis of a complete, demanding and relevant curriculum with high-capacity teaching, research and extension. The department is devoted to strengthen human resources and impel the development of the Agro and Food processing industries in Bangladesh. It is a leading educational department in its field which brings together cross-disciplinary, world class researchers to meet the wide range of challenges faced as food processing to meet global demands.
